Wotan's Throne on the left helps frame a lightning storm in the Grand Canyon.  This was taken last Labor Day at Cape Royal on the north rim.

How nice to catch a bolt of lightning during the day.  The framing from the ridges and the foreground rocks lead nicely to the lightning.  You've got fine range and balance of lights and darks.  The darker clouds seem a bit on the blue/cyan side.  Do you have a lightning trigger?

Mark, yes on the lightning trigger.  It was used for this image.  The summer rainstorms are off to a late start here in AZ, so maybe I can get out and use it this weekend.

The large image is awesome, Doug.  Magnificent framing of the canyon and the distant storm and lightning really finish the scene off.  Beautiful.

This is great timing Doug. Fantastic landscape in itself even with the icing on the cake with the lightning. Great job.
