Hummingbird on Monarda

Our hummingbirds have pretty much gone for this year but I thought I'd post one of the few shots I got of one working the Monarda earlier this summer.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 468 mm, hand held, f/6.3, 1/1250, iso 800, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1/3 EV.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 10.1 MP before resizing.  Taken at 6:20 AM on June 26th.

Your comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Good catch! A good sense of motion from the hummer and tack sharp flower head, plus a butter smooth background.cool

Nice wing capture at 1/1250th Dennis, and lovely light. I love the pose you caught against that smooth clean background.

Nice image Dennis.  Nice pose/flower/background.  My hummingbird population this year has been much smaller than normal.  Hoping the fall migration will bring me some more.

One of your best Hummingbird shots this year Dennis. I like it. Good color, detail, and subject matter (your flowers).

The flower is tack sharp as is the body of the hummer.  There is enough blurring in the wings to give a sense of motion.
Beautiful image.
