Chestnut-bellied Guan

I have just returned from leading a photo tour to Brazil, on the first leg of the trip we photographed in the Pantanal, the largest wetland in South America. This shot was taken near to last light at Rio Claro Lodge, it's almost full frame. It was my first extended trip using the 1DX Mark II, which is an impressive camera in terms of autofocus, image clarity, speed and iso performance. Almost full frame.

Canon 1DX II 500F4 1.4x 1/125 F8, iso 1000, lying on my stomach.

Beautiful image, Nate. The reddish tones in the background compliment this beautiful bird perfectly. Very regal looking pose and nicely composed. All around a great image!!!
