I tried something different with this flat crossing - no dramatic jumps but loads of commotion.
A slow shutter and a steady trigger finger...

Techs:
Nikon D3s
Nikkor 400mm f2.8G VR
2x teleconverter
f36  |  1/10 SS  |  ISO-360

It does seem somewhat chaotic with the wildebeast going in both directions and the zebras milling around.  Having some of the animals in the dust adds interest.  Thanks for sharing.

I like this a lot Morkel, it captures both the animals waiting and the ones crossing very well.  I like the atmosphere as well.  My only suggestion would be to crop just a sliver from the left to remove where the bank ends on the left and there is a bit of water showing through above.  devil

Hi Morkel,

Lots to look at on this one. I like the "chaos" here, and definitely like the natural gradient in contrast from foreground to background. I'm not sure the slow shutter speed and somewhat randomly occurring motion blurs really add a whole lot to the image...but that's obviously a personal preference kind of thing...

Cheers...

Thanks for the comments folks - definitely not everyone's taste and that's fine.
