My favourite of the African rollers, largely due to the less vibrant colour.
Taken in the only place I have ever seen one, Kidepo Valley National Park, Uganda
EOS 1DX MkII
200-400 mm F4 with 1.4 EX at 506 mm
F 8
ISO 800
1/1250

Excellent detail, Ken.  A trifle tight for my taste, but I don't know what else you had around it to contend with.

Maybe a little tight in the frame Ken but really nice colors and the pose in the gnarly bush works for me.

Beautiful bird nicely captured Ken.  I might take just a touch more off the bottom to remove the shiny leaf in the center bottom.  Excellent detail. devil

Nice look at this beautiful Roller, Ken. You have very nice detail in the bird in some pretty challenging sidelighting. Maybe a little bit tight in the frame, but that is a personal taste.
