Rufous Hummingbird

Just poking around in the files from earlier this year in search of candidates for the weekly challenge and I ran across this image. I liked the fluffed out plumage and the head turn, so I thought I'd post it.

7DII, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600mm, hand held, f/9, 1/250, iso 640, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1/3 EV. Processed in LR5 & CS6. Cropped to 10.5 MP before resizing. Cloned out a couple of stray branches sticking ito the sides. Taken in the back yard on May 22nd at 8:15 AM.

Amazing detail. Have you considered sending some of your 600 mm shots to Sigma for advertising purposes? Your shots convinced me to buy the lens, though my shots are not as crisp as yours. Maybe its what's behind the camera body as opposed to what's attached to it. sad

Nothing not to like about this image Dennis. Very nice detail in the feathers and the background and perch are both complimentary. Great colors and the comp works well too. I agree with everything Allen said concerning your results with the Sigma lens. devil
