Coyote Close-up
by Mark Seaver
I was photographing a group of Pronghorn across Soda Butte Creek, when a coyote walked out of the willows. It worked it's way downstream across from me, waded across, and then started working it's way towards me on my side of the creek. I moved myself and my tripod slightly several times to make the picture taking easier with it not even looking at me as I did so. This portrait was taken with the Coyote between 15 and 20 feet away and even then, as you can see here, it couldn't have cared less about my presence. (7D2, 400mm f5.6, 1/320s, f/8, iso 800, tripod)

I wondered, if content allowed, to move the who crop right, going closer to the left of the subject and more content to look into? Adding a Channel Curves adjustment will bring more depth/definition to the subject and create more form too. Good call on the DoF.
