I am pretty sure I never posted this one, but this is another form the burrowing owl shoot I had this summer. Sorry I haven't commented much lately, but I haven't posted much either. Just been super busy and trying to find time.

1DX, 500mm f/4, 1.4 TC, 1/5000 at f/8, ISO 1600

What to do?  The bat or the owl? Both are excellent in all respects. I choose this one because I like the talons and the background. Excellent.

Great catch - perfect landing pose, perch,  exquisite BG, and the extended feet make it exceptional, for me.
very well done!

Perfect timing to take this shot Kurt. Well done. You had positioned yourself well to get the head as well. A little late would have the Owls wings covering the face. Well do excellent shot.

One of your best Kurt. Really like the outstretched feet. The background is just about perfect.

Killer landing pose.  Shadows didn't intrude into the eye (I'm sure you planned it that way!!).  Great sharpness, excellent timing.
