Wonderful looking blooms, Kayla.  I think this would be a bit more effective if you could have gotten enough dof to get the large lower-right bloom in crisp focus as well.  It's also helpful if you can find an angle with a nice uniform background (some people-myself included, will carry something to use as an artificial background on occasion, though I don't use them often).

Welcome to NPN and the Flora gallery Kayla!  I like the color of the blooms, and that you got the bee in flight to the plant, Kayla.  I wish that those pointy things were not coming in from the right and encroaching on the  bloom.

Kayla: Welcome to NPN in general and to the finest Flora gallery on the planet in particular. I love the element of the bee and the color of the plant. I agree with Dennis and Nathan with regard to the BG but this is still a fine effort. Great to have you aboard and looking forward to more of your posts and comments on the work of fellow members.>=))>

I really enjoy seeing this image.  I've never seen this plant before, and it's really enjoyable to look at.  I agree with finding a POV with a cleaner background (if there was one), and a little more DOF.  Good job!

Welcome to the Flora Gallery! I've seen these locally before, but never knew what they were. I agree with the consensus:
  1. More DOF
  2. A simpler BG (I carry a simple circular diffuser that I sometimes use to avoid trimming someone else's flowers). It works fine if you have a remote release. Nikon makes one that probably will work on the 3200.
  3. You may post a larger size image (1600 pixels x n/1000 kb) which is very helpful to a critiquer.
Again, welcome. I look forward to more of your efforts!
