For a while anyhow.  I'll go find something else to shoot for a little variety.  I liked the subtle red tints in this one and the looser form of the blossom.

5DIII, 180 mm f/2.8L, tripod & cable release, f/25, 3.2 sec, iso 100, manual exposure.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  I removed a few small brown spots from the petals, ran some noise reduction, and adjusted saturation slightly.  Full frame.  Taken October 3rd at 3:58 PM with indirect light from a skylight.

Comments and criticisms are appreciated.

Thanks,

Great tones, excellent light, wonderful composition.  I really like the shape of the petals and bloom.  I think that I would clone out the small dark edge at the top right of the frame....Great dahlia images Dennis!

Nice perspective here and sweet colours.
That one little triangle of darker yellow on the left border catches my eye, so you might wish to clone it out.
Nice work!

Dennis: A pristine beautiful subject superbly captured. The subtle colors are wonderful and I like the frame filling comp. Most excellent. >=))>

This is something I have not seen in a lot of in the Dahlia images—good proportions between the center and the opened petals. This is really good composition, added to by the lovely subdued colors. The little darker colored areas bother me not a bit, although you might try adjusting the HSL selectively on them. Excellent work!
