Please view LARGE version.

Just returned from a trip to central Florida.  Visited a few places I had never been to before; this image captured from one of those places, the Withlacoochee River (south).  I specify south because there are two rivers in Florida named Withlacoochee.  Anyway, the setting sun really lit this tree up with beautiful light.  I hope I did it justice.

Comments and critiques welcomed and appreciated.

Bill: The larger version is indeed a must see. Love the light and can see why it caught your eye. 2 thumbs up! >=))>

The LARGE version is the way to go here because much of the beauty is in the details of the trees and foliage. This has a good strong composition with much to explore. It's a pretty contrasty subject yet due to strong composition doesn't look busy. I think if the light had been less harsh it would be a bit better. There is little to suggest in terms of improvement. I am drawn to the foliage more than the reflection and would be interested to see the image the water cropped off to a bit below the bubbles (1 inch). It's a small change. I like that string of bubbles on the bottom and would make sure the viewer is aware of it. Nice job.

You certainly did it justice. The dark shadows make it glow even stronger. Nice reflection with some movement in the water which makes it more vivid. The fresh green with the golden brown trunks is a nice combination. Great scene, well captured.

Bill, Yes, Large version! This is a joy to view. The light and shadow play here is just wonderful and then you have those fantastic reflections. Beautiful capture!

The "sparkle" here is great, Bill.  The greens are spectacular and there's enough bright trunks to show them off well.  In the larger view, the dark areas open up very nicely making a total image that is wonderfully attractive and very dynamic with the high contrast playing a major role in the dynamism.

Lovely light, and great detail, Bill, but I would like to see a more detail in the deep shadows. A slight crop from the bottom would accentuate the trees, but taking away too much of the reflection would be detrimental to the mood. Well done!
