Egret in Autumn

We've had an unbelievable Indian Summer here in Northern Vermont and I've been chasing shorebirds on the upper Champlain for the last few weeks taking advantage of our good fortune. Yesterday was a gorgeous day on the lake with calm winds and temperatures in the low 70's, and as I was paddling my kayak back to the landing I came across several Great Blue Herons and a few Great Egrets. I took this shot several minutes before the sun faded behind the Adirondacks.

Gorgeous light, Chuck.  Good detail for hand holding that much lens from a kayak.  The reflection is pretty cool, but I think a bit off the bottom might work better.

Sweet light, Chuck. A nice pose by the Great Egret, too. I agree with Dennis on the composition.
