The recent post of a Martial Eagle, led me to look to see if I had ever posted this one, as it transpired it was taken during our one and only visit to Kruger National Park in June 2008.
It was taken with an EOS 1D Mk III in the days when cameras had little "extra assistance", and had a totally unfounded reputation of not being able to focus
I entered this on the Kruger website and it won image of the month

Wonderful timing, Ken, from a time when camera didn't let us capture 15 fps. Great exposure on the whites and blacks. Can't find anything to criticize; another winner.
