During my recent travels in NH's White Mountains I caught some beautiful fog and mist while frost clung to the low valleys.  I opted for a nearby marsh for a spectacular sunrise, but realized these clouds would have been really interesting with sunrise colors.  If we could only time travel!  This is the northern Presidential Range shortly after sunrise.  3 images focus stacked at 120 mm to compress the view and maximize the mnts's size.

D810, f16 ISO 64, polarizing filter.

Certainly can feel the chill in the air, Harry. The fog softened the contrast just enough, and the clouds are great.

I like how you've handled the high contrasts here, Harry - the overall rather sombre feel really brings out the sense of a chill autumn morning !  I also like very much the contrast between the rich textures of the fg plants and the softness of the distant hills and sky.

Real nice, Harry. I like the layered look and cool sky. Very well done.

Harry, You did an excellent job capturing these conditions. I think your comp with the stacked 120 mm images worked out great. The soft feel of the clouds and mist over the distant mountains is wonderful. Larger view makes me feel like I was there up close to see this.
