A lovely photo of a pretty worn looking bird. That boat tail would be sinking if it was really a boat. sad Nicely framed by the grasses and a good over-the-should glance at you.

Really nice pose, Barbara, with excellent detail in the bird.  I like your decision to leave the foliage coming in on the right side.  I wasn't sure at first, but after looking at it for a few minutes, it seems to work better than removing it would.  Some of the birds are really starting to look bedraggled this time of year and this is a beautiful example.

I love this Barbara. I like the vegetation in the frame and the ragged look of the Grackle. I keep wondering how this would look as a vertical crop. Maybe you tried it. Nice work.

The small version does not do justice to the image. The large version has lot more detail and looks great. The lighting is very complementary and I like your composition with the hints of vegetation all around.
