Snowflake
by Dennis Plank
Rather the floral equivalent in Queen Anne's Lace. Every time I see these on our morning walk, I tell myself I need to photograph them. Of course, I managed to wait until all the really lush ones were gone, but I did finally bring one home and photograph it. In some ways, I think it worked out well as the smallness of the bloom emphasizes the hexagonal symmetry.
5DIII, EF180 f/3.5L, tripod and cable release, f/22, 5 sec, iso 100, manual exposure. Processed in LR5 and CS6. Selective darkening to the bg and sharpening of the flower. Arbitrary crop.

6 commentsBeautiful structure, Dennis. The flower does look like a snowflake. Nicely done!
