Sunshine Sally

Bright yellow always reminds me of sunshine. This bright yellow daisy (?) brought sunshine even on gloomy days. I'm not quite sure how I got the angle that elongates the petals...but, I often shoot from different angles to get unique shots. Flowers are so overdone it's difficult to shoot something that hasn't been done a thousand times. Sometimes unique is wonderful, sometimes it isn't. I've learned to listen to those who are more experienced and glean that which improves the image. But, most important, to always be true to yourself and shoot what you love, post what you feel is your best.

I like the composition, Lori.  Nice detail in the stamens and pistils.  In this case the soft focus on the petals works for me.

Good job on picking out the stamens and pistils. A classic comp in a semi panorama. The green BG doesn't hurt, but it is a little busy. I think this is a Cosmos flower, but not sure. It's definitely not a Daisy.cool

Lori: Delightful shot and I really appreciate you posting a larger version. I agree with Phil regarding the BG and would try to either blur it or put a vignette over it. This still works for me as is and the near pano comp works well for me.>=))>
