Sandy River Delta

Hi Folks,
This shot was taken with my Canon s90 point and shoot on a walk with the dog at a place near Portland called "Thousand Acres."  It's near the mouth of the Sandy River, where it joins the Columbia, and it is a popular off-leash dog park.  The colors and reflection stopped me dead in my tracks that day, and I was fortunate to at least have my point and shoot handy.

This is probably not one for the portfolio, but I thought it was interesting enough to share here.  Thoughts and suggestions
welcome, as always. I shot it as a vertical, but liked the square crop best.  Glad to show the "full" frame if curious.

Canon s90
ISO 125, f/8.0, 1/100s, raw
12.845 mm
handheld

I know the place well!  Nice capture - a very calm and serene scene.
Like the reflections and bare trees.
May be just an illusion, but seems to need a tiny  bit of CCW rotation.

That's really striking.  The trees on all sides frame that group of people perfectly.  The soft colors create a sort of out-of-time feeling.

I like the soft light and color palette. I agree with Sandy about the rotation. The people and dogs give a nice sense of scale.

Sandy, This picture has a very nice feel to me. The people and dogs in the frame add that extra nice touch. The reflections look great and with the still water appear even sharper that the actual trees which looks pretty cool to me. As usual the reflections should be darker as they are here, and I think the darker contrast gives it that sharper appearance. Nice shot with that s90 and glad you shared it. cool

Better?  I think one of the trees is leaning and tricking me.  Also, the little sandbar is closer to the camrera on the right, so that's throwing me off too.  Let me know + or - on rotation.  Then I'll fix that cut off tree top in the bottom reflection.
