Autumn Gold

This was taken at Lee Vining Creek a couple of years ago but never shown here. I arrived too early for the aspens but there was one stand that was in full 'bloom'. I tried several wide open shots and this single more focused image. I ended up liking this the most because I felt it captured the sense of these trees more than as part of their environment.

Canon 6D, 24-105mm@105mm, F8.0, ISO 640, 1/250 sec, tripod

Please let me know what you think. And thank you for the comments on the last one, that image was a bit too blue.

This is sweet Igor.  I wish we had aspens in Florida!  Inviting composition and the color variation from dark gold to light gold, to green/gold delights the eye.  The only nit (very slight) is the few overly bright spots where the leaves seem a bit washed out in a couple of places - I might suggest burning them somewhat.

Very nice Igor, light and airy nothing oppressively dark just rich bright warm colour.

I like this a lot --the luminosity and lightness of the image really appeals.  Given the focus on the trunks in the center coming out of a wall of leaves I do find the couple of trunks on the right side to a bit distracting.

That's an interesting comment Ana. I actually thought the right side trunks added to the image.

This is really nice, Igor. I would agree with Bill's comments about the really bright areas center but it is not a deal killer. Very well done.

This looks fine to me. I can see Anna's point about the trunks, but I'd stick with your comp.

Well seen and captured, Igor. I agree with the comments/suggestions about the several bright areas. If those can be addressed, this would really sing.

Igor: I especially like the quality of the light in this and the color variations it triggers in the leaves. Well seen and superbly captured.>=))>

I can just feel a crisp autumn breeze rustling through those trees. Beautiful.

They say less is more and that certainly applies to this lovely scene, Igor. You captured the essence of the autumn season perfectly with the aspens showcasing their golden leaves. Beautiful work.

A very effective composition, Igor, with the slightly off-centre trunks and gap giving a focal point.   I like very much the soft textures of the leaves and the variety of tones.  Lovely image !

Igor, I think this image needs to be presented as a large print to reveal all the wonderful details - the web presentation can give us only hints at them. Your composition and processing works perfectly for me. To my eye, the highlights make for an appealing kind of minor imperfection, that is consistent with the atmosphere of this bright autumn day.

Love this beautiful picture. The larger the better I'm sure. Wonderful composition and the light and colors are so pleasing to view. No changes needed for me just print it large. The kind of pictures that just makes one feel good and smile a little..cool
