A Touch of Autumn

Early signs of autumn on a horse chestnut among fresh growths. This is a very unkempt and somewhat rare stretch of wet woodland in a major urban area.

Canon 400D, 18-55 @ 43, 2.5 secs @ f29, ISO 100

A fine collection of greens and golds, Ian.  The lushness of the area shows well here, with the foreground greens and the scattering of golds up top and fading into the background.

Looks like the rainforests of the Pacific Northwest - lush and green, and very inviting.
I can visualize taking a blanket  into the leaf-carpeted area and reading for a quiet afternoon.
I'd personally prefer the tree in front was a little more off-center, but only a tiny nit.

I like the 'unkempt' look. It would seem that the front plant weakens the composition but actually it gives it a more overgrown look that is characteristic of woodlands, I think you could have gone with a lower f stop and had a shorter exposure but nothing appears to be blurry, Nice job.

Well seen and captured. Like the yellows scattered throughout.
