Madison River Fog

by Jerry Austin

Gallery: WildlifePosted November 8, 2016125 views4 comments

I found this bull and his harem (I count 18 cows) along Yellowstone's Madison River early one morning. I like the fact that the elk are in a line that allows for a pretty good look at individual elk. Processed using Lightroom CC (2015) and Photoshop CC (2015.5) along with Light Craft's LightZone. Comments and critiques welcome.

Good foggy morning picture! I have a weakness for good fog pictures, and this one brings back memories. It has an appeal to me beyond the visual.cool

I agree that there is something very appealing about the mist and fog Jerry and Philip. This has a great mood, and would make a great full sized wall hanger.

Hi Jerry,

I always like foggy and "moody" scenes so by default this one works well for me. Nicely processed. My only nit (and it's purely personal preference) with this shot is that it feels like it's missing a single "point of interest"...such as one elk standing out by being a little separated from the others with its head up, etc. But overall this one still has lots of appeal!

Cheers...

I'm sure enjoying the mood here, Jerry.  There's a nice sense of motion in the fog rising off the river and I can just hear the sonic clarity that's associated with fog.
