Nice choice of foreground for this type of shot --the curve of the rock is such a strong simple shape and that along with the brown water really sets off the little plant.  I also like how the curve of the foreground rock really parallels the shape of the opposite bank.  I'm kind of going back and forth about whether the plant is overpowered by the mass of trees at the top; that grouping of three trunks in the middle holds my eye a bit.  I think there could be a nice alternative crop just above the rocks in the middle ground.

Ana - Thank you for your comment. Those background trees were so lovely, I didn't consider eliminating them from the composition. I have to get out of the box.

I think Ana's crop suggestion worked out pretty well, Ronald. I could also see a little bit of a crop of the FG rock to make it a bit less prominent in this lovely scene. This has a very nice peaceful mood to it. Is this the Rose River in Shenandoah NP?

This a very nice scene, Ronald. I love the little plant and the trees. There are some small pink spot in the water between the main boulder and the one to its left that you might clone out. You did a nice job handling the dynamic range.

The greens and especially the perspective work very well here, Ronald.  Especially that tiny tree on the foreground rock.  A great sense of you are here.  The repost is a nice improvement, focusing on the strongest parts of the original image.
