Heavy ground fog breaking up over the Lowe River and allowing one of the many mountain peaks to show through.

Fine image, Gary. Terrific atmospheric conditions. The bottom of the image with the bare trees creates a moody scene, while the top adds drama.

I really like this Gary the trees and branches of the left hand copse remind me of a fully un-rigged tea clipper, ie. without the sails and the circumstances are spookily reminiscent of the crushed ship in Antartica on the ill fated expedition to the South Pole.  The mountain peerng through the clouds is a glimpse of hope in a desolate and lonely looking place.

Gary,

What a terrific moment of nature captured here.  Hard to be critical of anything, this is super.  The only thing I can think of is an alternative crop; may not be an improvement... but just a thought.  I'm thinking of a slight crop of the water at the bottom just to emphasize a more narrow view which echoes the opening in the fog, revealing the mountain.  Said another way, the water at the bottom is not that important to the story of the image here.  But then again, nothing wrong with it either. ;-)

Those two bits of shore with trees really do look remarkably like ships. Great mood in this photo!

This is cool. Love the bare trees and foggy mood and then the jolt of the blue sky and clear mountain. Works well for me.

Like Ian, at first glance, I thought of unrigged sailing vessels.  Beautiful moment you captured here.  The snags leaning into the image set this image up perfectly.  The break in the clouds bring hope to this desolate land. Could be an excellent candidate to convert to B/W.  the mood may be enhanced even more.

This is gorgeous, Gary. The mood created with the ground fog sets the table for everything else in the scene; particularly that grouping of trees on the left bank as it eerily looks like a deserted ship. I also think that the opening in the fog mimics that narrow strip of water rather nicely. Well seen IMO.

A neat view here, Gary.  The standing and fallen trees on the left sure have me thinking of a wrecked sailing ship.  Love the peek throught the clouds at the distant mountain (guess that's a peak also... enlightened)

I love the mood, here, Gary. The parting clouds make the mountain loom nicely, and I love the fog. You might consider cloning those two stumps in the water. I like the two leaning trees.

That's funny because that was my first thought as well: a sailing vessel with sails drawn.

From the thumnail it looks like 2 ships. Opening it up is just magical.

Cool. I like austere dead trees like this. Neat combo of bright and positive, and dark  down below.
Looks like there's plenty of snow.
Have you been using the 6300 for quite awhile? Do you consider it to be weatherproof at all? Is itnwhat you do most of your poctures with? Sorry for the multiple questions, I am looking  at relatively small weatherproof cameras....

Yep, me too. It sure did look like a ship with a glance at the thumbnail. A very interesting combination Gary; it almost looks like two separate images.

Thank you all for the comments and critiques!

Genny, I have been using the a6000 for roughly 2.5 years and the a6300 for almost 9 months now.  I still use both. While Sony doesn't make any claims about being weatherproof, I've used both of them in the rain and snow many times without protection and have never had a problem.  The nice thing is that they're so small I often go hiking with both of them.  I put the wide angle zoom on one and a telephoto zoom on the other.  That way I don't have to worry about cleaning sensors.

Gary,
Thanks for the reply.  That's great about taking both of them hiking!!  I am looking for something light, small, and at least somewhat waterproof that I can take fishing, etc.  I was pretty unhappy with the pictures our little point-n-shoots Fujis took on this last trip to Kodiak.  I had my Sony NEX with me but I didn't carry it everywhere; it stayed in camp.
I know you have taken awesome pictures of the years, and if you have a good opinion of these particular Sonys, that means a lot!!  Thanks.
