I'm having a working/surf/holiday in south Western Australia at the moment in a very picturesque area called the Margaret River. This is one of the iconic locations, Sugarloaf Rock. A blend of a shorter exposure for sky and a longer exposure for the foerground.

HI Kah, a wonderful location (another one added to the ever growing list ...). Captured superbly, the wonderful light and the blend really works (especially because it is so very innocuous) for the otherwise almost impossible exposure.  The motif itself doesn't quite do it for me though and I think I would have liked to see a bit more of the water in the foreground and the reflection on it ... (say almost losing bottom 1/4 and left 1/4) Just my (very personal) take ...

Love the composition and FG light and post processing but I do notice some haloing around the mounts and the sky appears abnormally dark to me; perhaps by about 2/3 - 1 stop.

Kah Kit,  great to see an image post from you.  This is a wonderful seascape with very strong and beautiful composition.  Love everything here and have no nits or suggestions.  Great image.

A very minor suggestion would be to burn down the small patch of bright water on the left side of the image as my eye keeps going there... and I would think the brightest water reflections should be in line with the setting sun. Other than that simply a superb sunset seascape, Kah Kit!

Kah Kit, I like this a lot. The composition works well for me. I do think it could be just a wee bit brighter, and I also see the halo Bill mentioned. Being picky, the bright white spot on the rocks on the left is an eye grabber. I love the color and the light. The large version is a must-see.

This is really nice! I like this composition very much and so much enjoy the light, colors and textures here. Great looking sky too! The bright water on the upper left between the rocks does detract a bit but with that toned down a notch this is fantastic work. A very beautiful image to view and especially in the large version which is a must.

This scene has a wonderful depth to it and the sky with the array of warm and cool colors is very beautiful, Kah Kit. My only suggestion would be to tone down that section of water between two boulders along the left side horizon line as it does catch my eye. Minor stuff though. Great work.

The comp is good, the light is good, and the processing is right on. But I don't feel this is a really inspired image compared to most of your work. It's not clear to me at this time what drove you to stop and take this picture. Perhaps with time it will come to me as it sometimes happens.

PS That small tidepool in the rocks on the left really draws the eye due to being round and bright.

Thanks for the comments guys, I did miss that bright pool being a distraction. I entered this into a competition last minute - oops. If it gets through to the next round I might surreptitiously tone it down for the high rez file :D
Igor, I mainly stopped off to shoot one of the most iconic subjects in the country since it was on my way and the light was looking to be sweet at sunset ;)

Exceptional image.  Many elements/rocks in the foreground but your composition provides a cohesiveness that works remarkably well.  Beautiful color. Superb work as always.

Your seascapes are always so nicely done and this is no exception.  I like the warm light on the rocks and the color contrast in the image.  Wonderful depth as well.
