Snow in Summer

Another Dandelion shot from this past year that I found as I was cleaning up my hard drive.  This is a vertical crop of the original horizontal.  I thought the left corner of the original lacked the interest in the rest of the image so I went with this crop.  I think I was a day or 2 late for the best of the bloom, so I will give it another go in the coming year.  This was the most dense crop that I have yet found, so I will keep an eye on it more closely this time.  4 image focal stacked at f13, ISO 250, 1/8 sec. and a darker exposure for the sky.  D810.

This is a lovely image, and I do remember vaguely the ones you posted earlier. I love the sharpness from front to back (note to self: start making focus stacking a practice) and I also like all the transitions you can see, from way past prime to peak bloom. Not really bloom, but peak seed pod display. This must be quite spectacular also when it is in bloom. Gorgeous!

Harry,

This is wonderful! The detail/sharpness of the dandelions up front is amazing.  Great job with the processing by keeping the sky and vegetation in check.  Love that sky btw.  No nits or suggestions from me.

I think a crop without the sky would look nice. The very near FG buds are fascinating...
Focus stacking these was nice work, must have been an extremely still day.

Aren't Dandelions wonderful, Harry?  This is an amazing view with all the dandelions set against the fine sunset.  The brightness and details in the foreground blooms adds some fine pop.  Well seen and executed.

Excellent. Terrific detail and sharpness make this a very intriguing image. A great interpretation of making the ordinary, extraordinary.

Although I like the sky I think a composition with less sky would be stronger. A square crop containing all of the bottom , removing sky above the horizontal clouds seems to bring out the dandelions a bit. The sharp detail in the dandelions makes this image. This is my favorite of the series.

Who knew that dandelions could be so interesting?!?  Beautiful light and color in the sky complements the interesting shape of the dandelions as they go to seed.

Very nice color transitions here from the whites and greens to the blues and pinks.  I'm a big fan of stacking images for depth of field.  Good job here.
