This image was taken at Moraine Lake, Banff N. P. early one fall morning just as it began to drizzle.  I especially liked the geometric angles that appear as reflected in the crystal clear water.

Very well composed, Paula.  That strong diagonal slope and its reflection really carry the eye through the image.

Yes, Paula, the angle of that snowy slope and it's perfect reflection are great compositional elements.  I was about to comment that the cyan toning fit the scene well, when I opened the larger view and see a fine black and white view with no hints of cyan.  Did you upload different versions or is this something that the NPN software is doing?

Mark, any variation in toning must be caused by the NPN software because I uploaded the image as I usually do.  The only thing I noticed that was different was that I had selected a background color for the entry and when the image posted, it was not included.  As my "technical advisor" likes to remind me,  it was probably "operator error"!

A beautiful place and a nicely capture view to fit the challenge.  A gloomy picture with respect to whether and the cyan toning in the smaller image actually fits well.  You might be interested in the discussion I started about JPEG compression and saturation/color issues in the digital imaging forum and now the general NPN discussion forum.

Symmetrical diagonals!  Very nice, Paula! I think the mono color image makes the shapes even more prominent.
