The flower of Camellia is beautiful and I have chosen it for opening my new photographic year.

Back lit at dawn in the greenhouse near home.

D800E, Nikkor 200mm macro - f/5,6 and ISO 100

I am grateful for opinions and advices.

Gigi: A great leadoff image up to your usual high standards. Marvelous light and BG and I like the little leaf peeking out on the left side. Looking forward to another great year from you. >=))>

Beautiful back lighting to show off the petal details. An unusual composition, nice background and, of course, the great lighting. Look forward to seeing your images throughout the New Year.

Now, this is one gorgeous Camellia. One of your best in my opinion.

Hi Gigi, didn't need to look at the name for this one enlightened

... a wonderfully delicate portrait - the leaf is a nice touch ...
