WC#769-Amano Shrimp

Another new trial, this from yesterday.  I tried taking some images of a shrimp shed exoskeleton in my wife's aquarium a couple of weeks ago and posted it in the Man and Fauna forum.  Jim Zablotny suggested I take a picture of one of the live ones and I finally dug out the flash cord and tried setting up something yesterday when this one was clinging to the power cord for a tank heater (I also tried one moving around with disastrous results).  Flash was from 90 degrees away for this.  I took two different angles, and I'll post the second one as a comment.

5DIII, EF180 f/3.5L, tripod and ballhead with flash on another tripod, f/14, .3 sec, iso 6400, -1/3 EV with flash at -2 EV, Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to a 14.8 MP 4x5 from a vertical original.  Lots of ugly stuff cloned out of the bg.

Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Here's the side view.

5DIII, EF180 f/3.5L, tripod and ballhead with flash on another tripod, f/14, .2 sec, iso 6400, -1/3 EV with flash at -2 EV, Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to 15.1 MP.  This was shot from the end of the tank where I could get a little closer.

Dennis, both shots show off the shrimp well, especially the nice glow of it's golden carapace.  The extra detail and the darker background in the repost make it my favorite.

Hi Dennis,

I like these 2 shrimp images and they fit nicely into this WC. They are interesting little crustaceans and are quite photogenic.  Well donedevil.........................Jim

ps.: My tank is shrimp free because a few of my fish enjoy them as a tasty snack!

Dennis, nice views of this small creature. I do much more prefer the second one for the neat translucent view going on there......laugh
