House Finch Proc. Exp.
by Dennis Plank
There was a slight breeze blowing when I took this image and the finch was going in and out of the sun. In the best frame, only a small part of the finch was sunlit. I attended a lecture a couple of months ago where the lecturer talked about "reversing the light" starting with an example from Ansel Adams. He went on to show how to play with it using the local adjustment tools in LR. I decided this was an image that it would be interesting to try some of those techniques, so I took light away from some parts of the image and added quite a bit to others. I kind of like the result, but I'd be interested in the opinions of you folks.

7 commentsThe overall processing of the light looks fine to me. Had you not said anything, I doubt I would have noticed. Without the original, hard to say. For me the pine cone above the birds head is a major distraction however.
