Crying Time..

We took a small diversion on the way home to see the Crescent City, CA lighthouse during the last storm.
This is what was in front of us.
No camera, not even my semi-decent cell-phone camera which I had left at home. Only my husband's old cell-phone, since his new
Iphone is being repaired. 25 miles from home, and  storm mostly over, or I would have come back.  Argh.

PS:  Please see similar photo posted a couple days later, with the next storm and the good camera. Much better  resolution and detail, IMO

Sandy

Don't need to cry... you did an outstanding job of capturing the waves and lighthouse.  Something always appears when there is no camera to capture it.  I guess I have to learn how to take a picture with a cell phone.

Wow, quite a dramatic scene. No wonder you were sad not to have your camera! This is just fantastic. Excellent job with what you had available.

Wonderfully dramatic, Sandy. I love how the trees are leaning away from (bracing for) the wave spray.  Such a classic house style too.  I'm glad you captured it with the tech you had available.

Sandy: no matter what the equipment, that's one fine photo. The waves, the red-roofed house and the wind blown tree all add up to form a well captured scene. Richard

This is excellent, Sandy!  I love the composition and it's actually quite detailed for a cell phone photo.  The blurry water appears to be the only compromise.  This really supports the saying that the best camera is the one you have with you when this type of opportunity arises.

The best camera you have is the one you have with you as they say. I wouldn't have guess you shot this on an old phone. Exellent capture.

Sandy: Just proves that it's not necessarily the gear but who's driving it. A master pianist could make beautiful music on a bar room upright while anything I'd do on a Steinway Grand would be cruel and unusual punishment for anyone listening. Marvelous conditions superbly rendered. >=))>
