Two Hungry Mouths

There were actually three chicks in this nest but only two could usually make an appearance out the hole at any one time. spent quite bit of time at this nest site which was in a great spot. Backgrounds were a challenge as was getting close to that eye-to-eye perspective I usually like. I ended up putting my camera tripod on PVC stilts to create this image.

Beautiful. Steve.  I really like the backlit maple leaves as a background.  Excellent job on a tough exposure as well.  The pvc stilts are an idea I'll have to file away.  I do think just a touch more canvas on the left would be nice.

Pretty cool capture.  Sounds like a tough location.  Good for you for using PVC stilts to make this happen.
Overall the image has a yellow/green and a touch of cyan cast.  I used a couple of techniques to isolate the issue and came up with this version.  See what you think.

Great family shot. I do think Keith's repost dealt with the green cast. I would go even further and desatuarte the green background a bit. For me, it somewhat overpowers the image. Nice capture.

A marvelous scene, and I love the green background.  It seems to lack a bit of contrast, but otherwise, I like it as presented.  Though I do see the yellowish caste, on my screen it looks better than Keith's repost which looks too blue.

:)  Many thoughts on the colors of this one, but first I want to say that this is an amazing image, just amazing.

I agree that Keith's repost of this one is too bluish and that there is a cyan cast in the original post and that the green needs to be desaturated a lot.  It's quite obviously worth working on almost no matter how much time it takes.

Nice behavioral image.  Good poses on all three birds.  As stated, a challenging background.  Very cool to get an eye level shot as most of my local birds nest 100 feet up a ponderosa pine snag.
