Red-winged Blackbird just doesn't fit the title block.  I was out in my backyard blind this afternoon when this lady showed up at the suet feeder which doesn't get a lot of use.  I was using flash, but I think the batteries are getting low because it didn't fire for this shot, so I'm surprised it came out as well as it did.

7Dii, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, Jobu gimbal mounted to blind window, f/11, 1/40, iso 1250, aperture priority, pattern metering, -1/3 EV.  Processed in LR5 & CS6.  Cropped to a 16.2 MP 4x5 before resizing.  I cloned out some zip ties that were holding the suet feeder to the tree on the left.  I also removed a lon horizontal twig projecting from her breast that was a nuisance.  Taken this afternoon at 1:13 PM under cloudy skies.

Comments and criticisms are welcome and appreciated.

Thanks,

This looks fine to me as posted. The lack of flash doesn't harm the image in any way IMO. It is not the sort of setting I am used to seeing for this species.

Beautiful light as is, and great detail and composition.
