American Robin

I came across this image in my files from the springtime a few years ago.  I like how close I was able to get to him, although I think maybe I should have left a little more space behind his tail.

Canon 400D, Canon 70-300@300mm, f/8, 1/400, ISO400.

I appreciate all comments and critiques.

Remarkably close at only 300mm. Nice detail/sharpness, good exposure. A classic field guide pose.

But I sure would like more space all around the robin.

Hi Barb,

A little more space to surround the robin would improve the comp.  Sometimes, the opportunistic photographer takes advantage of a subject that comes in closer than expected.  The spring plumage of robins is rich in color and you captured this one in very bright plumage......................Jim

Nice shot of the Robin, but I agree with others, some more space around it would improve the composition, in my opinion.

Great shot as far as focus and detail.  He is so bright-eyed!

Nice portrait Barb. Your colors are great. The catch light in it's eye is great. You've already received other good feedback on this.
