Red Amaryllis. Greenhouse shot. The yellow color came from the decorating light on the ground.

D90, 105 mm, f/3.5, 1/100, ISO 1000, tripod & monopod not allowed, original frame. January 2017.

Further my post  on Phils shot on how much to keep in focus.  That,s the beauty of    close ups- you can play all day !!

Yun: Red indeed! I like your DOF management here especially. I find amaryllis tough to compose unless doing something like this and for me this is a frame filling winner. 2 thumbs up. >=))>

Reminds me of the rich man and Lazarus, begging the Lord to send Lazarus down to hell with a drop of water on his finger to quench the raging thirst of the rich man. As a low DOF shot, the colors and POF work really well.

I like the shallow dof, Yun, though I do wish all three segments of the pistil were in focus.  I'd also be tempted to remove or soften the stamen on the right as it just doesn't seem to work with the rest of the image.  Lovely colors and concept here.
