Here is another from my Yosemite trip a couple of weeks ago. It is a little different take on the iconic elm in Cook's Meadow (which was closer to Cook's Pond).

Let me be the first to comment on this wonderful Yosemite winter image. I have always loved that old Elm, and with the fresh snow, it takes on a new look and mood. The misty background and the pools of open water lend depth. I also like the hummocks of snow. The tones look great to my eye, and the large version separates the tones much better than the smaller version. You did a fine job here Mr. H.!

Harley,
The large version is very impressive with outstanding tonal quality throughout. I agree with Preston that you did a fine job on this well seen and presented composition. The mood you captured here has me wanting to go stand by the fire.
Nicely done . . .

Beautiful, Harley. Excellent interest throughout and the snow wonderfully simplifies the comp. and distils down the image to the key elements. Processing looks great. I think the bright tonality of the sky gives the image an uplifting mood.

Harley, this is great!! It looks like a fantasy world of snow. Really good job of finding this and getting the comp and exposure just right.
My tiniest nit might be that bit of mountain that rises on the left side, which just kinds of distracts from the trees, but I doubt there is anything you could have done about that. This is just lovely!

I like a lot both the atmosphere and the foreground, Harley. The trees in the background are very well defined. It makes me wish to walk on that snow. Well done!

Excellent again, Mr Harley. For a storm shortened trip, you really made the best of it. Love the tonality of the snow mounds and the dark water. The old Elm, background trees, and bright sky all work very well together. Beautiful image.

You mean to tell me you've returned to Cook's Meadow numerous times???? And what do you get to show for it? An absolutely special and unique view. This is wonderful. And perhaps even more so knowing where this was captured? No cars, no 'togs.... that makes this extra special.
Great job with this sir. No nits or suggestions.

What a great foreground! The snow covered rocks hold a lot of interest, but they pull my eye back to the elm. Very nice work!
