This image is from November 2015 along the Merced River in Yosemite. The golden light is actually morning sunlight on the ice reflected from the south face of El Capitan.

Beautiful golden tones and nice patterns. A fine abstract.

Hi Preston,

You did a pretty good job with this scene. Lighting and comp are pleasing to the eye.  Lots of fun details present on the ice. Well done.......................Jim

Very nice abstract, Preston. I find the bronze tonality a bit more unique and beautiful. The composition is well balanced and processing looks good.

Nice abstract composition, Preston. It gives a sense of wealth.  A gold engravure. It has the lavish richness and seductive beauty of gold metal. There is also a sense of royalty in this image.

Preston,

Love the ice patterns, detail and texture here.  I remember this well and long for being able to find this again.

No nits as presented.  But for me, I might play with increasing the "brilliance" and/or color/saturation to reflect more of a gold, rather than the bronze.  Of course this is purely personal choice and I recall our discussions on color from the images posted during that time.

Hard to go wrong with whatever you decide to stick with. It's a terrific image.

A couple of more notes on this:

1. The gold and deep blue on the left is a particularly attractive combination. A crop that would result in a composition of that area could be really interesting.

2. There is a pale oblong area center left that looks out of place. I would clone that out.

Unique find, thought it was dried clay or even gold of some sort.  Cool find, who knew it was ice.

Great abstract!  I like the interesting textures with the contrast between the sharp lines and the smooth edges.  The golden light really adds a unique dimension to this image.  Great work!

A wonderful abstract image, Preston. This comp works really well and those patterns are very cool looking. Just the right sheen so it looks like it has been cast in bronze. Nice work!!

Awesome metallic bronze looks look here, Preston.  Love this.  I see the same oblong shape as Igor, and I would clone that.  Beautiful ice abstract.

So cool!  It looks like an etching in gold.  The 3D really comes through in this.  Nicely done.
