Layers of the NamibRand

The NamibRand Nature Reserve lies on the border of the Kalahari desert and the Namib desert. It's a place of immense open spaces and immense beauty. I long to walk these dunes again!

Morkel, very intriguing image that inspires a sense of adventure!  The stark beauty of expansive red sand and a road that leaves us wondering where it leads add a sense of mystery to the scene. Very nice!

I agree with Paula on this Morkel. This is really inviting us to venture in to see what is there. The foreground is somewhat stark, but really inviting, and the mountains make a beautiful backdrop.

I find that somehow the road really makes this image/composition work for me. Wish I could get my truck/camper there!

thanks a lot, folks
camping here for two nights has been one of my highlights of living in Southern Africa - it really is so isolated, peaceful and starkly beautiful

Morkel,

Very nice image.  I can see the various layers in the image from the front up through the sky.  The road makes me wonder what is just out of sight.
