Whale Echo

This is a photo of a sonar screen. The orange/brown band in the middle of the screen is the mud bottom. The blue speckles above it is a school of krill. The two small, orange streaks near the number 13.2 in the  upper left corner, are the echo returns of two whales  which are diving to feed on the krill. I had just walked into the bridge after photographing the whales when I saw the screen. Not a great photo, but interesting to be able the see the whale's behavior on a screen. Nikon D500, 80-400 lens at 1/320, f/8 and ISO 2200.

Without your description I would not have had a clue as to what this represented, Richard.  A fascinating image !
