As a kid, just a few years ago it seems, I would look forward to Saturday mornings when the old black & white Westerns would air on TV. Life was simple, not a care in the world and I could lose myself in the fantasy of being a Cowboy or an Indian in the Wild West.
“Breaking the young Girl's hearts, just like Gene and Roy - - Singing those camp fire songs, Oh I should of been a Cowboy.”
Now-a-days life is NOT so simple but I can still smile re-living those childhood memories with a visit (camera in hand) to the Booth Museum in Cartersville Georgia (
http://boothmuseum.org/ ) to enjoy and photograph the amazing Western and Native American Artwork on display.
I have found unique challenges to over come photographing at the Museum, there is plenty of subject matter but only select pieces have decent backgrounds to work with and the lighting available will cast undesirable shadows. Still it’s a great place on a cold and rainy day to photograph.
Hand held, in-house lighting (no flash allowed in Museum), 95% of full frame (mostly from slight rotation).
