A lone tree

This is a typical Canadian winter evening. Freezing rain just stopped. Overall it was a grey/white scene. It was a little twilight blue.

What do you think of the composition, subject, and the mood?

There is no manipulation except for GND filter and vignette effect.

Thanks

Hello Bo,
Welcome to NPN. I like the foot prints leading to the table and tree and that you have removed a lot of the blue from the photo you posted in the forum.
You have come to the right place if you want to learn. This site is comprised of great people with a lot of talent. I have been a member for a year now. I do not post much nor critique much but I do read the posts. I just wanted to welcome you to NPN.

Regards,
Brian

Welcome to NPN, Bo!

There is a most appealing serene atmosphere to your image for me. The symmetry in the composition conveys a kind of steadyness to me, and by means of vignetting the foreground balances the sky well to my eye. You really invite me to follow the footsteps, and I enjoy to explore the whole frame and especially the delicate details of the twigs.

Very well done composition and a lovely scene. I find the grad effect just a little heavy in balance relative to the foreground.

The blue cast works for me - and the detail in the tree is really top notch!
