Nice image. I like the comp and the over the shoulder-open beak pose. Soft light and a diagonal perch. Well done.

I like this pose on this woodpecker. In some ways, this reminds me of a Flicker. Nice detail and background. I have mixed feelings about some of the greenery and focus near the bird. It seems to draw my eye away from the subject.

Nice over-the-shoulder pose and exposure, Sandy. The open bill gives it some action too.

Great pose and perch, beautiful details and background. No one else has mentioned it, so it's probably just me, but is there a slight blue color cast on the bird and perch?

Great pose and color palette Sandy. The head seems a touch soft and you might check that blue cast that Barbara mentioned. I am seeing it too. I like the diagonal perch.

I like the pose on this woodpecker, Sandy. I like the nice soft light but there seems to be a blue-green color cast to the image. I think it may benefit from a slight increase in contrast as well, I think the blacks would pop a bit more.

Really good timing for a nice pose, Sandy. Love the headdress. As far as the foliage, I think the branches upper right are fine, although you might consider cloning those at the bottom. Agree about the color balance, worthwhile to selectively pull back on the cyan a bit, just on the bird and perch.

Hello Sandy ! I really love the composition and the overall set-up ! There seems to be however a greenish cast over the image. but other than that a fine image that I can look at for quite a while. A pleasant, natural setting. Cheers, Hans
