This is a type of photo that would be nice as a part of a series; 3 or 4 intimate shots of various vegetation that highlight the lines and forms of each. It would make a nice set of abstracts. While individually muted, together a series would tell a bigger story.

I find this image soothing and "comfortable" (a word that came to mind when viewing an intimate grassland image by Lon), but in addition, this one has a dynamic feel, with the curved diagonals moving my eye through the image.  Another factor that brings life to this is the presence of the green grass behind last year's growth.  It provides a nice contrast to emphasize the directional flow of the image.

Excellent grass abstract, Preston. Well seen. Agree with Wayne that the direction of the grass gives it a very dynamic feel. This is indeed the sort of image that needs to be viewed large to fully appreciate. Too bad your uploaded file is less than the max size.

Real nice grass abstract. I would not mind seeing the red saturation boosted a bit. I concur with Dave's comment about image size. It would be nice to see your large images larger.

Preston,

This came out quite nice.  I really like that you isolated the patterns, diagonals and even the curves in the LRC.  In fact, that small sweeping curve of grasses in that corner is key to the success of the image, IMHO.  The emerging spring greens are just visible, adding a nice element to this graceful, intimate capture.

I have no nits.  I like the colors, sat and processing as presented.  Well done sir!

The details and sense of movement look good here, Preston.  Nice find while "wandering around".

I'm glad you are facinated with grass.  It is really helping to expand the way I look at and interpret the small things around me.  It also forces me to look closely at this image to see what drew you to this particular section of grass.  I love the swirl in the bottom right, as if non-conforming is fashionable.

Preston, there is a most appealing kind of flow in these textures for me. I also appreciate the subtlety of your presentation a lot.
