According to Geneva’s local press, our only previous recent sightings of Long-tailed Ducks go back to 2012 and 2015. In 2012 I photographed six females, all with their short tails – I was somewhat disappointed that the ‘flotilla’ didn’t include at least one male! This time I struck lucky only to find that the male had a short tail! Regarding the techs, there was a rare moment of bright sunlight allowing low ISO to avoid ever-present Noise at ISO 800!
Thanks for viewing
Your crits and nits are most welcome

I like the colors and details in this image.  Also, I believe the somewhat distorted reflections add to the photo.  Overall a nice image of these ducks.  Thanks for sharing.

A very good image, David. I like the "Short-tailed Longtailed" effect.

Nice that you're able to get both ducks in good focus.   Good color and detail and nice point of view.  I saw few of these in Iceland last year so they come a long way.   I'm impressed with the diversity of ducks on Lake Geneva.   It looks as if you have a good location and you're able to get down fairly low.
