Hard to Swallow?

A purple Heron catches a huge Tilapia ( a very tasty freshwater fish) in Lake Albert, Uganda.
The swallow was completed unfortunately whilst turning its back on us.

A very interesting image. That is one very large fish! It is too bad the heron turned its back on you. I do think it could use just a bit of a contrast boost. Thanks for sharing. Interesting group of photos you have been posting from this area. Hope to see more.

Great timing. It never ceases to amaze me how large a prey herons can swallow. I personally would crop this a bit tighter.

Cool capture, Ken. The light looks a little flat; maybe bump expsoure slightly and add some contrast?

I am amazed that the heron was able to swallow at all. That is a big fish. This species has beautiful coloration Ken. Great action here, and nice focus on the main event.

Excellent ! Sometimes the herons here also seem too greedy. Nice behavior shown here. Cheers, Hans
