Me and My Shadow

Here's yet another POP image from Columbia State Park.  The sun was playing hide and seek and I liked the big oak tree shadow on the wall.  the fence was cool too.  There was also a stone wall below and I'll show that view as well.

Thanks for any comments or suggestions!

Here's a wider view, although it's still a crop from the original (more up top)

Lon, I like the interplay of light, shadow and texture in the initial post.  Including the stone fence adds a strong sense of reality to what I see initially as a fine semi-abstract view where the subject matter is less important than the overall view.  (If that makes any sense... sad )

I think I prefer the second image in that it seems more complete and adds to the perspective.  Perhaps it is the little touch of green in the grass or the addition of the stone wall as further contrast.  As Mark says, the interplay of light is fascinating here.  I think your total qualities are right on in this image.

I like the comp better in the cropped version (focusing more on the abstract nature of the image) but like the processing of the second warm (richer colors and warmer).

Interesting.  Even your pop-photos look totally Overacker.  I think it might be the arch to the tree branches.  Very characteristic for your images.

I like the cropped version better.

I think you did a great job on this one, Lon. The shadows tell a fine story and I like the transparency of them. The color and processing are spot-on. The cropped version works best for me. Nicely done, sir!

I think I like the first image better. For me the image is about the interplay of the shadows, light and texture of the brick. The brick fence adds another element that moves the eye away from the main subject. Again well seen and photographed.
