One or two wood anemones flower briefly in the Spring around the trunk of a tree in one of our local gardens.  Not often perfect, they still provide a lovely touch of colour in the grass.

Canon 7D, Tamron 55-200 @ 135, 1/640 @ f 5.6, ISO 320.

Just beat me to it Ian ! Had one ready to put on. They are just out here. Ilike the selection of a single bloom and the grass too makes the shot.
(I,ll do another one !!) sad

I like the natural flow of the grasses surrounding the flower.  We have yet to see spring blooms except an occasional protected crocus pushing through the snow.  Thanks for posting this... there is hope for warner weather!

Seems like you get excellent images of these anemones every year, Ian. Well composed with the looking looking into the frame and set off from the nice clean bg. The grass nicely fills the frame.

I like all of this, but the grass really makes it for me.
