Warm Reflections

Ok, here's another from the same Yosemite trip as recent posts.  Pretty straight forward, reflected light from the cliffs around/near Yosemite falls on the Merced river.  Snow covered trees are pretty busy, but I'm hoping the reflection and water motion at the bottom are enough to carry the image.

Blues/cyan are dialed way down, but still present in the river.

Your comments, critique and suggestions always welcome.

thanks!

Lon

ps. where is everyone?  Spring break?

I am really enjoying the reflected warm light. I would be tempted to throw a gradient mask on the top left corner and burn it down a bit to further bring attention to the reflection. Color in the water looks good to my eye. Nice solid image.

It is pretty dang quiet around here right now!

Excellent, Lon. The warm light contrasts nicely with the cool snow. Overall, I am wondering whether the snow shoulder be whiter and brighter. I realize the tree is in shade, but I find the snow a little gray and dull. Maybe brighten the entire image while trying to keep the water as is? Kind of a challenge, I know, and it's just a suggestion. Very nice as is.

As for lack of participation, don't get me started.

The golden light on the water is hard to beat.  I like the river color but tend to agree with Scott on the grayness of the snow...in the shadows no doubt. .

Funny how the addition of the snow add so much to the image, IMHO. I really like the light you caught on the river; it adds a contrasting warmth for the cold snow. I probably wouldn't mind a touch blue/cyan back in, but very nice as is and it lets the yellow shine.

Lon, I really like the intricacies of the branches overlaying the golden glow.
Nice find!

Nice intimate scene Lon.  Like the branches leaning toward the warm water reflections.  Simple but effective image.  A little winter warmth.

Love the lines of the snow covered branches set against that golden glow on the water, Lon.  I can see other folks suggestion to brighten the snow a little, especially the snow on the foreground tree, but even as is, this is an outstanding image.

Nicely done, Lon.  I love your thoughtful images along the Merced.  There have been some good suggestions for slight improvements to a very solid image.

Very nice warm River tones against a cool arboreal pattern.  Nice contrast in textures and color.

Lon, your way to combine cool and warm shades is really compelling to me. In addition, the gentle flow of the river counteracts the delicate snow covered twigs nicely. The warming light is somehow comforting to my eye.

Lon: Been forgetting to check your gallery thus the tardy response but I like this a lot. The warm reflections work great in the cold environment. Well seen and superbly rendered.>=))>
