Newborn bison calf and mom bonding after birth in Yellowstone. I think you can see the umbilical cord.

Bison calf time in Yellowstone is a great time, with the orange calves standing out so strongly.  They are also fun to catch playing as they romp, jump, and gallop both individually and in groups of 3 to 4.  This is a lovely shot, with mom resting her chin on the calf.  The lighting is good, with a fine catchlight in mom's eye and good details in her dark head.

Hi Hisham,

Very cute and tender moment. Nicely captured.

On my monitors this one seems a tad over-sharpened (less visible on a HD/retina display, but still a little evident). But this is a trivial nit and easily remedied.

Cheers...

Brad
