The Landing

This is the frame following the last shot.  Once again I added canvas top and right and removed it from bottom and left.  I'd guess one of these strides covered at least 16 inches (40 cm for those with sensible systems of measurement).  I have images of others running with two legs and it looks like the same motion except this bird pulls its good leg forward while it's in the air and lands on it instead of alternating legs.  The push-off and landing however look the same.

7D2, Sigma 150-600 C @ 600 mm, hand held, f/8, 1/1000, iso 640, manual exposure.  Processed in LRT & PS CC.  Pretty much the same processing as the previous image.

Comments and criticisms are always appreciated.

Thanks,

Cool image, with wonderful color tones, as so often with shore birds. It looks a little off, but I guess the stretch if beach wasn't completely horizontal enlightened. Love it ! Hans

Interesting angle (body horizontal legs not) If you crrected it the bird body would be doing nose dive. Great detail and back ground.

I had to go back and find the other one and read the story.  The larger versions of both have beautiful detail, and the colors are great.  For some reason the leg position in the other post seems more "natural-looking" to me and makes me less sad for the bird. :)
