Spring time house keeping

This shot was taken on the Lieutenant River, Ct.  The Ospery was just returning to it’s nest.  I cropped the photo this way, because the bird was down in the bottom left of the frame.  I used Lightroom 5 to help the shadows and highlights out.

Really nice, Peter.  I like the wing position and nesting material always adds interest.  It would have been nice if the near wing were sharp, but with the angle and already being at f/10, I doubt that could be achieved and still have the head in focus which is the important part.  I like this a lot.

Terrific perspective and detail.  The OOF wing tip gives a sense of motion.  I like it.

Nice exposure on a difficult subject. Good use of the frame.

Nice wing position on this one Peter. Love the nesting material on board too.

Hi Peter, like the framing here and the outstretched wing.

I think you could have increased the EV, perhaps +0.67 to help the darker shadow parts, also you want a faster SS, ideally around 1/3200. Based on the techs not an issue with the ISO as you had plenty to use, don't be afraid to increase it.
